Membership

The BMVFSC Membership year runs from the beginning of the Summer Contract to the end of the Spring Contract the following year.  Upon joining BMVFSC, you also become a member of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA).   Renewing your membership at the annual renewal period also renews your membership in USFSA.

Membership Fees are updated in the BMVFSC Policy Manual.  Rates are currently:

  • Senior Club - First Year: $70
  • Senior Club: $140

There is a discount for families with 2 or more skaters!

Contracting

Our club offers quarterly ice contracts for fall, winter, spring, and summer. If your skater plans to skate regularly, contracting ice is the best option as it offers a slight discount per session. Contracts may include both on-ice and off-ice classes, as well as freestyle ice. Please note that private lessons from coaches are paid separately from the contract fee. Contracts can be paid in one lump sum or monthly for the duration of the contract.

Skaters in the Senior Club must contract for a minimum of two (2) hours of ice time per week. Participation in Team Velocity counts as one (1) hour of weekly ice time during the Fall and Winter contracts.

Volunteering

The volunteer hour commitment is 10 hours. Families who fail to meet the 10 hour requirement must pay a fee of $200.

The two biggest opportunities to meet the volunteer hour requirement are during our annual competition (Autumn Skate Fest) and during our annual ice show (Impressions on Ice) in the spring. Other opportunities could also involve any of the bi-monthly test sessions.

Note: Volunteering for certain ancillary activities (i.e., decorating the float and walking in the Burnsville Fire Muster parade, volunteering at fundraisers such as at Von Hansen's meat sale) do not count toward the 10 hour requirement.

Fundraising

Senior Club annual fundraising commitment is $200. You can fulfill this in many ways, there are several fundraising events throughout the year or you can participate in the Scrip program.

Monitoring

Senior Club parents are required to monitor 4 ice sessions each contract and are subject to a $150 fee if this requirement is not met. If you do not monitor 4 sessions, you owe the entire $150. This is a quarterly commitment for any contract that a club member buys ice for. There is a link to the signup for monitoring on the home page of the website.
